How 20fourr verifies every security provider
Security is a category where “verified” has to mean something specific. This is exactly what we check, who checks it, and what each badge on a provider profile actually represents.
Badges are earned, never self-declared
Every badge below is computed from documents a 20fourr admin has reviewed and approved. A provider cannot switch one on for themselves, and a badge disappears automatically the moment the underlying document expires or is revoked.
Verified identity
Government photo ID checked against the person or entity applying, and approved by our compliance team.
Background verified
Police verification on file and read by an admin before the provider is allowed to appear in search results.
PSARA verified
Holds a current licence under the Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, 2005, with expiry tracked on a rolling basis.
Firearms authorised
Holds a valid individual weapon licence, verified separately from the agency licence. Required for any armed booking.
Ex-serviceman
Discharge or retirement certificate from the armed forces or police on file and verified.
Top rated
Averages 4.5 or higher across at least five completed bookings. It cannot be bought, and it is removed automatically if the average drops.
Elite protection
Our highest verification tier, reserved for close-protection specialists who clear every check above plus an assignment history review.
No badge shown
If a badge is absent, that check has not been cleared. We show what has been verified rather than implying everything has.
PSARA compliance
The Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, 2005 governs who may lawfully supply private security personnel in India. 20fourr verifies each provider’s PSARA licence before listing them, and re-checks expiry on a rolling basis.
When a licence lapses, the provider is blocked from search and from accepting new bookings automatically — not at an admin’s discretion — until the renewed licence is verified.
Armed duty is held to a second standard
A PSARA licence permits an agency to supply personnel. It does not permit anyone to carry a firearm. Armed bookings therefore require a valid individual weapon licence, verified independently of the agency licence.
- The weapon licence is checked per officer, not per agency
- An officer without a current, verified licence cannot be assigned to an armed booking at all
- If the licence lapses mid-contract, the officer is withdrawn from armed duty until it is renewed
Your data
Provider identity documents are never exposed to clients. Contact details are masked until you have a confirmed, paid booking with that provider. We process personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
- Booking details are shared only with the agency performing the job
- Licence and ID documents are held for verification and are not shared with other users
- You can request access to or deletion of your data through our privacy contact
What verification does not mean
Being straight about the limits is part of being trustworthy. Verification is a check on documents and history — it is not a guarantee of future conduct, and no platform can honestly claim otherwise.
Read this before you book
20fourr is a technology platform. The security services themselves are performed by independent, PSARA-licensed agencies and their personnel, and responsibility for their conduct on duty sits with them.
We are not an emergency service. In an emergency, contact the police on 112 first, then raise an incident on your booking so the record, the agency and our compliance team stay aligned.
A verified badge confirms a document was checked on a date. It does not predict behaviour. Ratings, check-in records and the incident process exist precisely because paperwork alone is not enough.
Report a concern
If something is wrong — an officer who did not report, conduct you are unhappy with, or a document you believe is not genuine — raise it against the booking. It reaches our compliance team and the agency at the same time, with the booking record attached.
- Falsified documents result in immediate and permanent removal from the platform
- Repeated no-shows or persistently poor ratings lead to delisting
- Check-in and check-out are recorded against the shift you paid for, so attendance is evidence rather than opinion
Checked before they are listed.
Every provider you can see has already cleared the checks above. Browse them and see what your requirement costs.
